Dr. Sarah Szanton is a professor at John Hopkins University’s School of Nursing. She also is an Endowed Professor for Health Equity and Social Justice and is the Director of the Center for Innovative Care in Aging. Dr. Szanton is the founder of the national program, Community Aging in Place Advancing Better Living for Elders program, also known as CAPABLE. This program provides low-income older adults with handyman services, in-home nursing and occupational therapy. Dr. Szanton graduated with a bachelor of arts degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Harvard College. She then earned an undergraduate degree in nursing from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, where she also earned her Masters of Science in Nursing. Dr. Szanton next earned her Doctor of Philosophy from Johns Hopkins University as well.

Dr. Danny Felty is a practicing family medicine physician and current medical director of several long-term care facilities in Virginia. Renowned for his expertise in post-acute care, he was appointed to serve on the Governor of Virginia’s COVID-19 Long-Term Care Facility Task Force. Dr. Felty serves as president of the state chapter for the Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine. He also is a member and fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and member of the Virginia Academy of Family Physicians. A distinguished graduate of Virginia Military Institute, Dr. Felty earned his bachelors of science degree in biology and minor in psychology. He then earned a doctor of medicine degree from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University where he also completed his residency.
Julie Miller is an advanced care practitioner. Her background in medicine spans more than 20 years, delivering care to patients in healthcare systems and post-acute care facilities around the nation. Julie spent many years working in critical intensive care units, specializing in cardiac surgical care and neurology. Julie joined Legacy Care as a nurse practitioner, caring for patients in post-acute facilities and assisted living centers. She transitioned into training and education, where she now leads the medical group’s credentialing, onboarding and continuing education program. Julie earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing with honors from the University of Phoenix in Tampa. Board-certified as an adult geriatric primary care nurse, Julie earned a masters degree in Adult and Geriatric Nursing from the University of Cincinnati.
