Richmond, Va. – To help meet the need for mental health support, we welcome our new Partner in Care, Joanna McAbee, PMH-NP, a nationally certified family psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner. She will be working with patients in a skilled nursing facility located in Richmond, Virginia.
Joanna received her Bachelor’s of Science degrees in psychology and nursing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Joanna then earned her Masters degree in Adult Psychiatric Mental Health from the same university.
Throughout her career, Joanna has delivered behavioral and mental health counseling to patients in Alabama and Virginia in a variety of settings, including overseeing psychiatric patients at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System. She has a passion for the communities she serves, and frequently volunteers for numerous organizations like the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners and the North Alabama Medical Reserve Corps.
